Comment
Snow pit was dug on South Fork trail just before Poopout hill. It showed three main layers: the top was from the storm this weekend and consisted of 15-20cm of dry snow easily compacted by a fist. The next layer was 1F hardness of relatively homogeneous old faceted layer about 10cm thick. The bottom layer was loose facets that were poorly bonded and about 4F hardness.
Tilt test failed easily after 2 taps, shearing (Q1) at the interface between the bottom and middle layer.
Two compression tests were CTE at the new snow and mid layer interface. The fracture crossed the column, but the block did not easily slide (SC, Q1).

High winds on the ridge were noted as loose snow was being blown onto NE aspects.
