Observer - Mike Keep me anonymous if published - no Location (general area) - Kratka Ridge Date (yyyymmdd) - 20151115 Time - 1430 Road conditions to area - Used 4WD twice to keep it straight. Clear by now. Although some kid flipped his Evo into a tree. Drive safe! Temperature - 34 Sky - Obscured (fog or base layer prevents view of sky) Wind speed - Moderate (17-25mph Small trees sway/ flags stretched) Wind direction - SW Wind direction in degrees - 220-240 Slope aspect - North East Slope angle - 30 Elevation - 7200 Snow depth - <1" Boot/ Ski penetration - To the ground Precipitation - Light Activity, recent avalanches - No Brief description - Very thin coverage. No measurable accumulations up to the top of the ridge. Mostly wet and melting. Whumphing noises, shooting cracks,collapsing - noRapid warming - yes Obvious avalanche path - no Terrain trap - no Comment - Didn't dig a pit but the dog was digging for a chipmunk. This storm layer is bonding exceptionally well with the layer beneath it on account of it's melting right into it. Just stoked for the season to start.
