Comment
Drove up to Big Pines/Angeles Crest around noon after abandoning plans to ski a few laps at lunch. Skies were grey and misty, with a light steady rain falling. Snowpack is visibly saturated, and South aspects are quickly melting out and depositing mud and snowplay trash on the road. Best guess is snow level is well above 2500 meters. Based on the warming temps forecast throughout the week I suspect much of the base we picked up last week will consolidate to a wet mush. Hopefully cool clear nights to come will at least yield some corn on protected aspects. Fingers crossed.
