Sky few clouds (up to 2/8) Wind speed Light (1-16mph Flags/twigs in motion) Wind direction not observed Slope aspect North Slope angle 30 Elevation 8800 Boot/ Ski penetration 0-8" boot Precipitation None Activity, recent avalanches yes Brief description There is a decent debris field in the lower drainage facinging the parking lot Whumphing noises, shooting cracks. collapsing no Rapid warming no Obvious avalanche path yes Terrain trap yes Comment Left Vincent gap at 8:30. Firm and slick conditions (used crampons and ice axe). Dug a shallow pit at 8800'. Started post holing and thought I should check out the layers. The top two or three inches slipped but the lower layers were well boned. Took a few turns off of the summit at 11:00 then hiked back to the ridge and road the snake run back to the parking lot around noon. It was surprisingly good.
